Musical Keys is an organisation bringing music and creativity to the children's wards, and grants all people the chance to develop through music and the arts. Musical Keys has worked with the Norfolk and Norwich NHS Foundation Trust for over twenty years. It has been a wonderful connection to have, and in its time quite ground-breaking. Founder-member and departing Chief Executive Sallie Eastick was an important influence in bringing about this sea-change in creative access for children staying in hospital. Now we see it as a good and important thing, but it wasn't always so readily accepted and for that we owe a debt of thanks to Sallie when she began the organisation many years ago. Musical Keys have announced that Ed Maxwell will take over as Cheif Executive from Sallie throughout the transfer period in April 2018.
Oliver Payne is the current programme manager, and they have a number of creative workshop staff including the Norwich based visual artist Dot Howard who is also involved in the running of events and workshops, bringing access to music and creativity to as many people as possible.
The relationship between Musical Keys and the Norfolk and Norwich NHS Foundation Trust is longstanding, and hugely beneficial to all involved. It is something that we look forward to developing with further activities over the coming years.
Many thanks to all involved!
