Music Day 2017 at the NNUH - Success!

As part of World Music Day 2017, the NNUH took part on the 21st June with a series of live performances around the hospital.  Artists ranged from the classically trained pianist Carried O'Donnell, the writer, composer and harpist Xenia Horne to other musicians like the guitarist Ian Brownlie, Dan Scoggins, Mussa the Messiah and Anna Carter.

Below is a selection of photos from the special day of Music at NNUH!

The day was carefiully organised and well received.  Patients and staff loved the unique dynamic of having an atmosphere of live music for the day - everyone made the most of it.  Some commented the following:

"What a delight - real music of all sorts."

"It is wonderful to have live music - it gives a totally different atmosphere.  Uplifting and positive."

"This is so beneficial to patients and staff alike in a stressful busy hospital.  I have spent a few moments of peace and bliss listening to this awesome music.  Live music like this heals the soul."
