Special Exhibition Femininity Comes From Within

We had the honour of exhibiting the touring exhibition Femininity Comes From Within by photographer Julia Holland, http://www.juliaholland.co.uk. The exhibition was held in the East Atrium, NNUH. It was on display for a week from 25th August 2015 and attracted many hundreds of visitors. It was bought to the Hospital working in close collaboration with exhibition tour organiser Chris Bailey and the Keeping Abreast Charity http://www.keepingabreast.org.uk.  

The exhibition features 50 striking portraits of women who have been under the care of cancer services and had breast surgery. Alongside each portrait were the own words of those of each of the ladies who had posed for the images. Each story and comment was both personal and powerful reflecting on each individual journey.

'I'm celebrating my femininity by having fun and focusing on what makes me feel attractive. The surgery may have changed my body but it hasn't changed me as a person.' Nicky
